01 — The edit

The easiest way to edit a talking video

Upload your take and it comes back edited: a hook in one of 15 themes, captions in one of 40, b-roll on a card. Tap a number to see what each part is and what it does.

1AI-written hook

What it isA headline card over the first seconds, in one of 15 themes. Three of them carry a small line drawing.

What it doesStops the scroll. Written from what you actually said; pick another line, another theme, its height, or hold it for the whole video.

02 — Caption styles

40 caption styles. Pick the one your video wears.

The same stills you pick from in the editor, and under each name how that style marks the word it lifts. Click one there and your captions switch to it.

03 — Templates

Four templates. Pick one when you upload.

The same four you choose from inside Cutroom. Each one sets the caption theme, the hook theme and where the b-roll goes, and every example below is the same take, edited by the pipeline in that template. Changed your mind later? Switch any of it in the editor.

04 — On the transcript

Then change anything, on the words.

No timeline. Highlight a phrase, delete a line or swap a clip, and the edit rebuilds around what you did. Pick a caption theme, slide the captions where you want them, switch the emoji off: the whole video follows.

Your transcript

I used to spend um, three hours editing one reel. Now it takes minutes.

B-roll on these words

  • Highlight a phrase and a clip lands over exactly those words
  • Swap the clip in any spot, or search millions of free ones
  • Put any clip full screen, on a small card, in a bottom band or on a tilted card
  • Pick a caption theme, then its font and colour
  • Move the captions up or down and set their size with a slider
  • Switch the emoji off, once, for the whole video
  • Pick the hook's theme and height, or hold it for the whole video
  • Fix a mis-heard word in the transcript

05 — The whole thing, in one scroll

This is the edit you don’t do.

Record one take — just you, talking.

Cutroom transcribes every word.

B-roll drops on the exact words.

A hook and captions get burned in.

The whole idea

One take in. A finished video out. No studio, no editor, no week of waiting. Just you, your footage, and a few minutes. That’s Cutroom.

Who it’s for

These four run out of video every week.

Content creators

The feed wants another one tomorrow. Today already went on filming this one.

Coaches & consultants

You explain the same thing on every discovery call. It should have been a video a year ago.

Business owners

There is no editor on the payroll, and there is not going to be one.

Agencies

Every client wants more video this quarter. You have the same people you had last quarter.

The honest bit

We’re not for everyone.

No “$1M a month with AI” here. Cutroom does one job: it edits spokesperson videos. Here is who it is not for…

You edit long YouTube videos.

Cutroom takes one spoken take of up to 3 minutes. Long-form needs a different tool.

You want clips cut from a long recording.

We don’t pull shorts out of podcasts or streams. You film the short, we edit it.

You want a money machine.

We don’t sell one. Nobody does — they sell the dream of one.

It is for you if you want your spokesperson videos edited: captions that move with every word, b-roll that lands on the words it belongs to, a hook on top. One take in, a finished video out. Your first video is free, no card, and you have 7 days to make it. It carries a Cutroom mark; Lite at $19.99/month removes it.

Questions

What people ask before their first edit.

Do I need any editing experience?

No. You upload one take and it comes back edited. Anything you want to change, you change on the transcript: highlight words, delete a line, swap a clip. There is no timeline to learn.

What does the edit actually include?

The pauses get tightened, a hook card goes on the first seconds in one of 15 themes, captions are timed to every word in one of 40 themes, b-roll lands on the exact words it illustrates, full screen or on a tilted card, and every clip gets a transition. Music is off until you tap it on.

Can I change what the AI did?

All of it. Swap any clip or search millions of free ones, move b-roll to other words or onto a card, delete a line and the cut rebuilds around it, change the pace, the caption theme, the hook's theme or the opening line.

Can I change the caption style?

Yes. There are 40 caption themes, set in one of 7 fonts: Anton, Bebas Neue, Montserrat, Nunito, Instrument Serif, Oswald, Fredoka. Pick a theme in the editor, then its font and colour, and slide the captions up, down, bigger or smaller. The whole video follows.

Can I switch emoji off?

Yes, with one switch. On the 14 louder themes a small emoji sits beside the word it belongs to; the quieter themes never draw one. Turn it off once and it stays off for the whole video, whichever theme you pick afterwards.

What can I upload?

One spoken take of up to 3 minutes, with sound. Vertical works best; a wide take is centre-cropped to fit. What comes out is a 9:16 MP4, ready to post.

Where does the b-roll come from?

Your own footage first: upload clips to your library and they get first pick. When nothing in your library fits, Cutroom uses free stock footage, cut to the words it matches.

How long does one video take?

A few minutes from upload to a finished edit. Changes rebuild the cut while you watch.

What does it cost?

Your first video is free, no card, and you have 7 days to make it. It carries a Cutroom mark; Lite at $19.99/month removes it. Paid plans run from $19.99 to $79.99 a month.

Who is it not for?

Anyone cutting long podcasts or webinars into clips: the source is capped at 3 minutes. Cutroom is built for people who sell by talking to a camera and want the editing gone.
