Comparison

Arcads makes the performer. Cutroom makes the cut.

AI actor tools rent you a face. Type a script, pick a performer, and a video lands the same afternoon. Arcads does that part well. It does not do the harder part. Here is what each tool is for, what a finished ad costs, and how Cutroom closes the gap.

Arcads casts in an afternoon. Cutroom finishes the ad.

Arcads is quick at the part that used to need a shoot day. Write twelve openings on Monday. Pick twelve faces. Twelve variants sit in the ad account by mid-afternoon.

No casting call. No product posted to a stranger. No reshoot fee when line three lands flat in testing.

That is worth naming first. Twelve reads of one script also tell you which script works, before a shoot day exists.

Here is where it stops. A performer reading your words is footage. Footage is not an advert.

An advert needs pictures on the phrases that describe something. It needs captions, because most of the feed watches on mute. It needs a pace that survives the first two seconds.

Cutroom does that second part. One take goes in. One finished 9:16 MP4 comes out. Captions burned in, b-roll sitting on the words you marked.

The roster is shared, so the face in your March ad reads a rival script in April

Every buyer draws from the same library. The jawline reading your magnesium script this month reads somebody else's collagen script next month.

On a hook test that costs nothing. On the creative carrying four figures a week, it is the one thing no edit patches.

The second cost bites harder. Direct response runs on a person attaching their name to a claim.

When a viewer suspects the presenter was rented, the claim reads as rented too. The tell is usually the eyes, not the lip-sync.

Your own face is the one asset in that ad account nobody else can license. The build cost is a phone and a window.

That is not sentiment. It is the only moat available at forty seconds of effort.

Test it yourself. Take the performer carrying your best creative. Look for the same face selling something else this month.

What it costs to try a second version of the same idea

Cutroom re-exports from a take already transcribed for 20 credits per finished minute. The batch does not run twice.

You mark the transcript and the cut rebuilds around the marks

Upload one take, up to three minutes. Cutroom transcribes it and drafts the whole cut. Back comes a 9:16 MP4 with captions burned in and b-roll already placed.

Then you direct it on the words. Highlight a phrase and a clip lands over exactly those words. Wrong clip, swap it or search millions of free ones.

Delete the line that flattened the read. The cut rebuilds around the hole. Change the pace and the machine re-cuts the whole piece.

Emphasise the word your claim turns on so it pops in the captions. Fix a mis-heard word and the captions follow the correction.

There is no timeline, no keyframes and no layer stack. None of those is a decision about the ad. Each one is where an evening goes.

Coverage is capped by pace: 40 percent on chill, 45 on normal, 52 on fast. The cut never turns into wallpaper with narration on top.

  • One take in, one finished vertical MP4 out
  • Six caption packs, and the style is a menu rather than a build
  • Credits charged against jobs, not a fee per generated video
  • You must be willing to be on camera. There is no way around that one.

What it takes: one take, three minutes, vertical out

The specification, so you can plan around it. Source longer than three minutes is refused at upload.

The output is a 9:16 MP4. That is the shape TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Meta Stories all run.

There is no timeline underneath. The compiler owns every frame boundary, which is why the edit takes four minutes instead of an evening.

Nothing of yours gets stamped on the finished file. No logo, no closing frame.

Somebody has to be on camera, or has to own a photo the avatar module can animate at 320 credits a minute.

Those are the facts a buyer needs on day one. None of them is what caps an ad account. The count of finished creatives does, which is the next section.

One winner in thirteen means the count decides the account, not the craft

Motion's analysis of 550,000+ Meta ads puts winners at 5 to 8 percent of creatives. Somewhere between one in thirteen and one in twenty.

Six creatives a month is not a small effort. It is a small sample. You are short of draws, not short of taste.

The two tools attack that from opposite ends. Arcads gives many faces reading one script. Cutroom gives one face and many cuts of one read.

Many cuts is the cheaper end. A second version of a take already transcribed costs 20 credits a minute. The batch does not run again.

So the idea you were unsure about gets made anyway. That is the behaviour that moves the number, and it is the behaviour a per-video price kills.

If nobody will film, test angles synthetically first. Then film the one that survived and cut it here.

One face, many finished ads, at a price that does not punish the fourth attempt. That is the shape of the account that finds a winner.

Arcads and Cutroom, row by row

Row one goes to Arcads and it is a real win. The rest is the difference between footage and a finished ad.

Questions people ask

Can Cutroom generate a presenter if I refuse to film?
There is an avatar module. A photo plus a voice-over becomes a lip-synced presenter you can cut like any other take. Avatar render is 320 credits a minute and generated voice-over is 70 credits a minute. That is one face you own, not a stocked library of performers.
What does one finished ad cost in credits?
A batch is 100 credits and covers transcription, the director pass and the b-roll search. Export is 20 credits per minute of finished video. A one-minute ad from a fresh take is about 120 credits, and the 300 free trial credits cover two of them with no card.
Do I need to know how to edit?
No. You read the transcript and mark it. Weak line, delete it. Phrase that needs showing, highlight it. The compiler owns every frame boundary, so there is no software skill standing between you and the export.
Can I run both tools?
Plenty of buyers should. Use the AI actor tool to find which of twenty angles survives contact with a feed, then film the survivor yourself and cut it here. The angle test is cheap synthetically. The winner is worth your own face.
Is it right for every ad?
It is built for ads where a person says something. If nobody will go on camera and no photo exists to animate, an AI actor tool is the honest recommendation.
